Day 1 Arrival Kathmandu
Welcome to Nepal. After executing your custom celerance at the arrival lounge, our company’s representatives shall be waiting you at the exit of the airport. Our representative will brief you about Nepal, general do’s and don’t, and your scheduled meeting program during on the way to hotel. As we shall be holding your rooms at the Vajra hotel, you may check-in anytime, per desire, during the afternoon.
Day 2 Kathmandu / sightseeing
We start our day sightseeing around Kathmandu’s major highlights, visiting Boudhanath Stupa. This great Stupa is one of the ancient monuments and most pious Buddhist sites in Nepal, and, also, one of the largest Buddhist shrines in the world. The Stupa is located on such area, which was once a prime hub for merchants from Sout-East Asia, as it was an ancient trade route to Tibet, where Tibetan merchants would rest and offer prayers. Thousands of devotes pay their respect, everyday, to this site. Boudhanath Stupa possesses a high respect from, both, Hindus and Buddhists. Pashupatinath Temple The most important Hindu shrine in Nepal,Pashupatinath (Lord of the Animals) is the protecting deity of the country and is a fascinating complex of shrines and Arya-Ghats (cremation sites) on the banks of the Bagmati River. This temple is built with a bunk roof and a golden spire and a fascinating shrine is the main temple with its pagoda-style roof and the 300-year-old huge bronze Nandi (the bull—Shiva’s carrier) in front.
Patan Durbar Square
It is surrounded by a fascinating array of temples in different architectural styles. The Kathmandu Valley Preservation Trust (KPVT) offices are also here – opposite one of the largest and oldest (and as yet un-restored) temples of Patan. Most aptly its offices are marvels of restoration. In Patan Durbar Square we will be also visiting Golden Temple and Patan Museum. Golden Temple – it is one of the best examples of courtyard temple architecture. This temple is a mixture of both Buddhist and Newari culture so it has its own religious beliefs like shoes and leather articles must be removed to enter the temple. Patan Museum – it is one of the royal palaces of the Malla kings of the Kathmandu valley which shows the beauty of Nepalese art and architecture.
Day 3 Kathmandu - Panauti via Bhaktapur
Bhaktapur is the essential Newari city with some of the finest architectures in Nepal. It is an important and fascinating World Heritage Site made up of three large squares filled with shrines, temples, and activity. Among three cities, it was the largest city of Newari Kingdom and capital of Nepal during the Malla’s period. It is one of the fascinating places to explore the traditional crafts of pottery, metalwork, art and woodwork.After having sightseeing of Bhaktapur city, we will drive to Panauti. Upon arrival at Panauti, we will be welcomed by the whole community. After the introduction with your Homestay host, you will head to your home for the night. Panauti is also one of the oldest typical Newari villages where we will get a chance to see the tradition and the culture of the Nepalese society. Panauti boasts a large number of fascinating temples, which is connected to Hindu religion. According to a historical myth, it is believed that the entire valley of Panauti rests on a single stone underneath. There are also several old temples. You will be wandering and doing sightseeing in Panauti town with your host. In the evening, you have the opportunity to learn to cook in traditional Nepalese Cuisine courtesy of your Homestay host.
Day 4 Panauti - Pokhara
From Panauti, it is a very short drive back to join the Arniko Highway for the 35 km down into the Kathmandu Valley and into the city (35 km, 1 hr). We continue our drive to one of the country’s oldest and busiest Highway. The construction of the highway started in 1967 with the help of the Chinese government. The construction was completed in 1974. The highway is named after King Prithvi Narayan Shah. If weather permits, while leaving the Kathmandu Valley; we may have an opportunity to view the Himalayan ranges of Nepal through car’s window only. We will be driving first along the Trishuli River – one of the main tourist attractions for white water rafting and, then, later the massive Marshyangdi River. During the drive, we will be stopping at the good points for photography. There will be short stopovers for toilets and lunch breaks, too.Pokhara is a place of remarkable natural beauty. The city is god gifted with different natural beauty like lakes, panoramic views of Himalayan Peaks, breathtaking sights of sunrise to sunset from Sarangkot, Pokhara. After reaching Pokhara, and comfortably checked into our hotel, we take a walk around the touristic streets of Pokhara – Lakeside. You may wander around the shops, restaurants, and walking by the Phewa Lake is, already, a mesmerizing moment to remember for a long time.
Day 5 Pokhara - Nayapul / trek to Ghandruk (1940m, 6hrs trek approx)
After breakfast, we start our trekking day with an hour and a half drive to Nayapul. After reaching Nayapul, we meet our team of porters. The porters will be carrying your luggage during the trekking days. After necessary formalities with the Park Entry Permit, we then start our trek to Ghandruk. Trekking in Nepal is not all about hard work and no fun. Hence, we recommend that you enjoy yourself while trekking, enjoy the nature, local view, and culture. We come across beautiful Himalayas, waterfalls, icy rivers. Take breaks while you walk, say “Namaste” to the locals or other trekkers passing by; return “Hello” to the children of the villages. You will feel the warmth of Nepalese Hospitality of the villagers from their smile as you walk through. On average, today, the walking distance will be around 6 hours. The trail ascends steeply to Birethanti and follows the west bank of Modi Khola to reach Syauli Bazaar. We then begin the climb to Ghandruk. Ghandruk is a Gurung Village from where you have the opportunity to the views of Machhapuchhre (6993m), Annapurna South (7219m), and Hiunchuli (6441m) and of the upper Modi Valley (1951m)
Day 6 Trek Ghandruk - Landruk (1620m) via Jhinu Danda (1650m)
Generally, if we walk straight from Ghandruk to Landruk, it will take only 2 – 3hours walking time. But we make this day special by taking a detour. Hence, we will be trekking from Ghandruk to Jhinu and walking time will be around 4 hours maximum. We are taking this detour to make your trekking adventurous and the opportunity for yourself to take a dip in Natural Hot Spring in Jhinu. Hence please make sure that in your day pack you are carrying your swim suits and towels. After reaching Jhinu, we order our lunch. We walk for another 20 – 25 minutes to the hot spring, where we can relax and enjoy the hot spring. After lunch it is another 2 hours – 3 hours walking distance to Landruk.
Day 7 Trek Landruk - Dhampus (1650 m, 5hrs trek approx)
This day it’s an approx 5 hrs walk to Dhampus, where we stop for the evening. The trail goes along the ridge to Deurali and we have to pass through scattered forests and villages which offer spectacular views of Annapurna South and Hiunchuli. Dhampus is naturally and a culturally rich village of the ethnic Gurung people where you will have an opportunity for a close look at the daily lives of the villagers.
Day 8 End trek Dhampus - Phedi (900m, 2hrs approx) / to Pokhara
We will make a final trek for 2 hours and end our trek at Phedi. We bid farewell to our supporting porter and thank them for their support during our wonderful trekking at Annapurna Foothills. Drive from Phedi to Pokhara is approximately around an hour.
Day 9 Pokhara
Pokhara is the one of the most beautiful cities and second largest tourist destination in Nepal. It is popular for lakes with spectacular views of the mountains. Boating in Fewa Lake in front of the mountains is truly mesmerizing. Barahi temple is an amazing temple in Pokhara, which is situated at the middle of the Fewa Lake like an island. You can hire bikes for your own short exploration around Pokhara. International Mountain Museum is a great place to visit if you have some extra time. It has lots of information about the trekking and Mountaineering history of Nepal. Paragliding is another attraction, which allows you to float over the lakes of Pokhara with a bird’s eye view.
Day 10 Pokhara - Chitwan
Chitwan is 5 hours drive from Pokhara, this drive provides you to see the views of deep rocky gorges crossed by rapidly flowing rivers and precarious suspension bridges to the intersection at Mugling. After arrival in Chitwan, there will be a welcome program by Tharu people in Barauli Community Homestay. In the evening, there will be cycling trip to Narayani River from where sunset looks like golden ball sinking into the Narayani River, which is certainly one of a kind experience of all the time.
Day 11 Chitwan
Starting a day with jungle activities, like elephant safari to jeep drive can make you feel that you are in the right place where you had to be, already, in a long time ago. Tour the Tharu village by walking, or you may cycle, and observe the local cultural and lifestyle of the village. Cultural dance program, in the evening, is an opportunity to understand the culture and traditional values of the Tharu peoples.
Day 12 Chitwan - Kathmandu
Departing from Chitwan, you will leave the lowlands, climbing into the Central Hills to join the Prithivi Highway at Mugling. It is then a slow journey east along Nepal’s busiest highway, to Kathmandu. It is however a scenic route with steep rice terraces making a dramatic back drop to the river, funeral pyres, suspension bridges and villages.(170 km, 6 hr)
Day 13 Kathmandu
Kathmandu, a city of temple and historical monuments which carry the unique history of Nepal – This day you can enjoy early morning Mountain Flight, local shopping in market, visiting tourist area – Thamel, cooking course, observing local market – Asan Day
Day 14 depart Kathmandu
